Charlie Kelley '12 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6'0", 175 lb. catcher from Florence, Alabama. I just completed my junior year at Shoals Christian School, and heldped lead my team to back to back State Championships.  I was recently named First Team All-State and First Team All-Area, and  was also selected to play in the 2011 Alabama High School All-Star Game in July. As a sophomore, I made 1st Team All-State, and was named 1A Hitter of the Year. After my high school team won the State Title last year, I was also honored to be selected as MVP of the Championship Series. My teammates voted me as Team Captain both last year and this year, and I take that role very seriously. In addition, my coach trusted me to call every single pitch last year during our 45 game season, and I continued with that responsibility this year during our second straight championship season. I try my best to be a leader both on and off the field, and I strive to succeed in all I do. I play three sports, but baseball has always been my passion. I began dreaming about playing college baseball in middle school, and have worked very hard since then to improve my skills and increase my strength in order to accomplish that goal. I am determined to find a college baseball program and coach looking for a solid catcher with a great attitude and work ethic. I am looking for a college with strong acedemics for my future. Currently, I have a 29 on the ACT and a 4.0 GPA. I would prefer a school in the Southeast, or East, but would consider most any geographical area. Also, I am open to any division of college baseball.
