When I first started playing baseball at the age of 6, I immediately fell in love with the game. My favorite times were playing in competitive tournaments at the ages of 10-14 because it allowed me to learn my strengths and weaknesses as a baseball player. The club teams that I played for also taught me how to win and lose the right way, whether in a game or life in general. Throughout my experiences, I have learned that my strengths are my grit, perseverance, endurance, and dedication that I put into the game of baseball whether it is practice, training, or the actual game. I also place a huge amount of importance on rest, recovery, and using the optimal nutrition to fuel my body.
I am looking for a school that will challenge me both mentally and physically and for one that will not just push me to be better at the game, but will also guide me as I continue to learn, grow, and strive to become the best man I can be. I have gone through a few obstacles throughout my baseball career. I was the only freshman on my high school varsity team. It presented me with a slight disadvantage but also a huge opportunity at the same time. I had to adapt quickly to playing with and against players who were older and more physically developed. I also have experienced outings on the mound where my pitches have not felt the right way, and I have had multiple at bats where I have not succeeded. I have learned that I am going to fail and not always feel one hundred percent; but through these struggles, I have learned that having a positive attitude and being consistently strong and focused mentally will help me to work through those times and succeed more often in the game and in life. I believe that I would provide a great leadership role for a team and that I would be able to bring a team up, even if the odds are not on our side. With the athletic and academic attributes that I possess, I know I have what it takes to become a strong and stable figure in a great program.
