I have been playing baseball ever since I was 5 years old. I have played in various position, although being a catcher has always been my primary position, with pitching being my secondary position. In little league, I was always selected as an all-star player, and on two occasions helped win the district 8 little league title and compete at the AZ state little league tournament. Playing baseball is something I’ve always been passionate about. The game of baseball has taught me various life lessons, like teamwork, preparation, discipline, being an active listener and patience. I always like to compete at the highest level and relish the opportunity to play against the best baseball athletes out there. I would like to continue playing baseball at the collegiate level as my knowledge, skills and abilities have prepared me to play at the next level.
Physically I am at 6’1” and 175 lbs., I am strong, athletic, have quick hands, have a high baseball IQ, and a natural team leader; striving to set the best example for my team mates on and off the field. Mentally, I am very coachable, accept criticism, get along great with everyone, and always open to new methodologies in improving myself as a person and as a student athlete. In games, I am known for my play making abilities, good sportsmanship like conduct, teamwork and enjoying the game of baseball until the last out or run.
Other than being disciplined in baseball, my college plans/goals are to major in either sports medicine, or in law enforcement. I’ve always found sports medicine interesting because not only will I learn how to heal athletes, but I will also be able to give an athlete the opportunity to overcome an injury and continue competing and pursuing their passion. My interest in law enforcement is a personal one. Like my dad, I would also like to become a part of the federal service and follow in his footsteps, protecting and serving the community at the highest level. Ultimately, my options are open in choosing a field of study.
I strongly believe I would be a valuable asset as a student and an athlete no matter where I am given the opportunity to continue playing and studying. With my determination, dedication, and positive attitude in everything I do, I will always strive to represent the team and school in a positive and professional manner on and off the field. Above all else I want to become a successful all-around adult, making a positive contribution to society.
