Jeremy Chacon-All...Hi, my name is Jeremy Chacon high school 1st basemen for Desert Edge currently sophomore class of 2024. I am 6’2” between 270-275lbs, dominant right handed hitter and thrower. When I am not in school or playing baseball, I enjoy lifting and playing other sports with friends and family. When extra time allows I love learning about older cars known as classics. My hobby with lifting gives me the opportunity to maintain shape but foremost I enjoy the adrenaline rush I get when pushing my limits to better myself.
My first memories of baseball come from family nights watching Dodger games. I myself started playing baseball at a young age around 6 years old when I was enrolled in a little league team. At about age 13 I confirmed my passion for the game, and started setting personal goals for improvement, as I wasn’t the best at this time. I started with lifting and focused on listening to my coaches and older peers for advice and feedback. I started to get noticed by other coaches and sport fans and at times I would be team captain leading/motivating the team to finish the game. Before entering high school I had the opportunity of being invited to play with a high rank RBI team in Arizona.
Playing baseball for years I have learned my personal playing style is to hit for power and contact. I love being competitive and a team player. During games I find myself challenging the opposing team by playing fast paced, stealing bags and making opposing players think on their feet, sometimes leading to errors. Playing “aggressively” I am determined to help my team by moving runners around the bases.I enjoy working on explosive movements to help with my hitting and throwing. With playing first base I’m working on hand eye coordination by picking baseballs off the dirt which also crosses into foot work motions that benefit my position.
Lastly, my goal is to transfer into a college that allows me the opportunity to play baseball as well as achieve my academic goals. I would like to continue school for business management as this is something of my interest. I am eager to see where my dedication and passion for baseball takes me and the opportunities that I am given with my extensive skills on the field. I continue to work on personal growth and improving my self-esteem to be prepared for any opportunities or challenges I might have.
