Baseball is my life. Whether it's the ring of the bat when you smash a double to picking up a teammate after he made a couple of errors to doing fundamental drills indoors during the rainy season, I live and breathe baseball. If a teammate is down after striking out, I am making sure he gets up before I go out onto the field. I always strive to be the best player I can be, on and off the field, physically and as a student of the game. I am extremely coachable and I find that criticism is the only way to be successful. Academically, I hold strong grades and a strong GPA (4.0 weighted), and academics are of huge importance to me. My passion for learning extends far beyond baseball, and into the classroom and into other activities such as piano. From Jazz Band to Honors History class to Baseball practice, I work hard in the classroom and outside on the field. I have always made sure to outwork everybody on and off the field, no matter how our skills compare. Thankfully, I learned early on that the only thing I could control was myself, which has made me work harder and harder throughout my life, not just on baseball, but on all facets of my life. One of my little league coaches once told me, "even if that guy is better than you, don't give up, hard work beats talent." Those words have stuck with me to this day, and play a role in every day of my life. No matter who is on the field, no matter who is better than me, I am always going to make sure that I am outworking them.
