Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my profile. My name is Ryan Whithorn and I am 6-foot-1-inch tall and weigh 180 lbs. I am currently a Senior attending an academically rigorous college preparatory high school in Southern California, called The Webb School's. I'm a four-year member of the varsity team earning four letters as a middle infielder & first baseman. In my first three years, I have started and played all 66-varsity games predominately as a middle infielder & first baseman. I have finished in the Top 10, in my league in batting average and slugging percentage as well as in the Top 3 in runs batted in and fielding percentage. I was blessed to have been awarded and earned All-Conference Honors twice thus far. Going into my Junior year, I was selected and named an Under Armour Preseason All-American by Under Armour and Baseball Factory. It is an honor and a privilege to be given such a prestigious award. Following my Junior year I was an All-California Interscholastic Federation Shortstop and was the recipient of the Team MVP award.
One of my priorities is to identify a college or university that has a great academic environment, and a baseball program that might provide an opportunity for me to pursue my dream of playing collegiate baseball. I realize that nothing worth celebrating comes easy. I desire to get better every day in all areas of my life. My strong work ethic, commitment and relentless positive attitude to prepare both academically and athletically are unwavering.
I respect the game and all its parts; I strive for personal greatness without losing perspective of team concept and responsibilities. I am extremely blessed to have such an amazing support system of parents, family, and friends and I am truly grateful. I am determined to make the most of my opportunities as I continue to grow as a man both on and off the field. I want to once again thank you for your time and consideration as a student-athlete for your college and/or university.
