Tobias Lucha '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello, My name is Tobias Lucha and I was born June 22, 2006. I am Class of 2024 at DaVinci School of Communications. Although I have been playing baseball since the age of 4, it is not until I turned 8 years old that I truly fell in love with the sport and decided that I would pursue it as my life dream.   I have always been very athletic and have also played other sports such as soccer and basketball. However, none of these sports fulfill me as much as baseball does.  I have been a centerfielder for the past 5 years, and I really love this position. Occasionally I pitch to close out games or switch to any other positions, but I really do prefer the outfield. I am versatile and can help my team in anyway possible.  

While playing this game, I have learned many life lessons. First of all, I have learned that no matter how hard you compete, sometimes you will not win, even if you and your team give it your all. I feel this is perhaps the most important life lesson, since in life you won't always win every battle and one must learn to lose gracefully.  Playing baseball, I have also learned to become more patient, a very important skill as you wait for the perfect ball. This skill is important in life because one must learn to be patient while waiting for your dream to be fulfilled. Most importantly, I have learned that regardless of the outcome, you must always give every game your best, because you never know who is watching. 

During my free time I like to hang out with my friends and play video games or go to the beach. Although my family had been there all the way supporting me as I follow my baseball dream, I understand that this is a journey that I must take alone and let the baseball gods observe my game!
