Personal Statement
Elijah Bunney – Baseball Personal Statement
My name is Elijah Bunney, and I am a sophomore at Beckman High School, and on the JV Baseball team. Thank you for the opportunity to share my experiences with you and let you know how I can contribute to your program.
Beckman has very high standards academically, and keeping up with studies is sometimes tough, especially because I play basketball as well. I take every assignment, project and test seriously. While I may not always be completely successful, I always give it 100% effort. Although I do not know for sure what career path I would like to take, I know that a good college is an essential building block to my future. I look forward to meeting new people with different experiences, and developing relationships and a strong educational foundation that will help me focus in on my career goals.
I’ve been a baseball player since I was four years old and truly love the game. My strength is in the infield, but I take pride in being a versatile player, and will play any position that will help get my team the win. While I have strong skills as an infielder and a hitter, what I enjoy most about baseball is the mental aspect of it. I feel like I have a high baseball IQ and can anticipate plays, not just for myself but for my teammates as well.
Being on a team has its own challenges and rewards – it often requires patience and encouragement when things are not going our way. It also creates opportunities to connect with my teammates on a personal level and build long-lasting relationships. I am proud that I have always been a leader on the teams I have played on, and feel like my teammates trust me and know that I have their backs.
I appreciate your time in reading this and look forward to learning more about your school and your baseball program.
