Regan Wolfe '19 Recruiting Profile

Hello coaches,

    Thank you for viewing my profile and possibly considering me for your program. I believe that I would be an excellent candidate for your team, as I not only focus on improving myself as an individual player, but also on advancing the program to a more successful level. I also provide versatility, as I have played every position, save catcher, at some point in my baseball career. I am comfortable playing all infield, as well as all outfield positions, and I would be willing to play wherever I am needed. I take pride in always being the hardest working and most dedicated player that I can be, which has led me to play through multiple injuries in an effort to help my team. I will carry this level of athletic integrity into any program that I am blessed enough to become a part of; moreover, I plan to continue to train heavily over this next year, and gain at least 10 pounds, to ensure that I am physically, as well as mentally, prepared to succeed at the college level.

    While baseball is an integral aspect of my life, I understand that it is only that; an aspect. My ideal collegiate experience would be to find a school that fits my athletic, as well as my academic aspirations. I have worked my entire life to balance sports and schoolwork, so the challenge of playing baseball at the collegiate level while succeeding in the classroom does not deter me in the slightest. I would be thrilled to have that opportunity, as it has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember.

    I believe that the single most important characteristic that I possess is coachability. My aptitude for learning and ability to apply what I have been taught has always set me apart as an athlete, as well as a student. My desire to improve has been essential in my development as a player, and I believe that it will allow me to continue to refine my game at the next level. I can also attribute a great deal of my success to my dedication to the sport. I have played year-round baseball from the time I was eight years old, and I have put 100% into every minute I have spent on the field.'

    As a child, I idolized Derek Jeter, as I saw him as the quintessential archetype of a true ballplayer. Despite not being the most physically imposing athlete, he was always able to make his presence felt. His work ethic and determination allowed him to become a Hall of Fame caliber shortstop, as well as a kind, genuine person. I have always attempted to model my style of play after him, as I believe that it is the correct way to play the game. Moreover, there is a quote from Jeter that I believe accurately summarizes me as a player. "There may be people that have more talent than you, but there's no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do."
