Jacob Garcia '17 Recruiting Profile

I have dreamed of participating in a sport that I could not only gain knowledge and athleticism, but also increase sportsmanship, values, and leadership. Since I started baseball at the age of 4, I have always strived to be the best. I invite challenges in day to day activities, as well as on the field. I played freshman baseball as a closing pitcher and was able to overcome being moved to a new position at first base when not pitching, after playing third base for several years. As a sophomore, I was placed on Junior Varsity, but was able to prove my value as a pitcher and was moved to the Varsity team prior to the season starting. I have played 3 years as a starting Varsity pitcher. I have been utilized as an opening, closing and relief pitcher since being on the Varsity team.  I have been working very hard with coaches to gain flexibility, strength and speed in both pitching and hitting.

I am very eager to join a team and school that can not only give me knowledge of the game and in the classroom, but can allow me to contribute as a player both on and off the field. I want to be part of a team that I can give my all and encourage my teammates to do the same. I want to be successful in the classroom and know that it is a privilege to be able to play at the next level. I am a coachable player that will adapt to any coaching style.

My parents have encouraged me to strive for the stars and never regret. I hope to make them proud of me by working hard to accomplish my dreams.
