Personal Statement

My name is Addison Tarr. I have been the leadoff hitter and center-fielder (some SS and 2B) for the Freshmen and JV teams at my high school, and was called up to Varsity for the playoffs both years. I played Varsity season as a Junior with 9 seniors on the team. My solid defense compliments the hitting skills, speed and head game I bring to the team. The Freshman and JV years I led my high school teams in runs scored, stolen bases, achieving coaches all-round award Freshman, defensive player of the year JV, and zero errors as a Junior. During practice and games alike, I always strive to do my best and often stay after hours to take extra ground balls and fly balls in addition to other training. Academics are my highest priority and the real motivation behind my athletic performance. Consequently, I take grades very seriously to maintain my current ranking of second in a class of about 700 students. I take as many Honors and AP classes as my high school allows. In college, my desire is to continue striving for academic and athletic excellence at the school that allows me to adequately pursue both.
