My name is Samuel Orozco and I have been playing baseball since I was 4 years old. I have grown up learning many life lessons through the game of baseball. I have learned to handle struggle, disappointment, success, and the importance of communication. I have been challenged with losing teammates I loved playing with and others I had to work on understanding. I have played with and been coached by people from different cultures, backgrounds, and in some cases learned to overcome language barriers.
I was taught to take care of my effort and attitude and to work hard. I take these lessons to heart, not just with baseball, but with school and other activities. I come from a family where my siblings and I are held accountable for our actions and are taught to be responsible and caring people. We are also taught to have the courage to be willing to fail because this is where true growth occurs.
I have interests off the field as well. I enjoy learning the guitar and piano and I am involved with the Orange County Fire Authority Cadet program.
This is how I strive to be in all aspects of my life, including as a baseball player and teammate. I am far from perfect, but I am a good person, kind, and confident in my abilities. I am confident I would be an excellent fit for many programs.
