My name is Alex Esau Vitela, I am 17 years old. I am a 6'6" right handed pitcher from Pomona, California. I am very interested in going to college, not only to continue playing baseball at the next level but to further my education. My parents are Alejandro and Jessica Vitela, they are my two biggest supporters. They always motivate me to continue playing baseball, and to do well in my academics. I also have two sisters, Jennifer and Esther. They are my biggest fans, they go to all my games and I am very grateful to have them. My oldest sister, Jennifer, is currently attending California Baptist University on a full academic scholarship. She is studying Nursing, she already has her Associates degree in Clinical Medical Assisting that she received at San Joaquin Valley College. My big sister is definitely someone I look up to because she has worked very hard, and has never gave up on herself, me, or her dreams. My goal is to graduate high school and be admitted into a four year university where I could study Kinesiology. I want to become a physical therapist, or an athetic trainer. Sports have been a huge influence on my life, so i would really love to be able to help out younger kids reach their goals. My biggest fear in life is forgetting who I am. I believe a person remains a humble human being when they remember where they came from. I will never forget my friends, families, coaches, and other people who have helped me along the way. I understand there are kids in different places that do not have the opportunities that I have had, and i can say I am truly thankful and blessed for everything that God has placed in my life. I live for the moment, I do not like making plans, because I understand tomorrow is never promised. I do not like to quit, no matter the odds. I refuse to lose, I will do whatever it takes to help out my team, whether it is on the field or off the field. I love helpig out others, if there is anything my parents have taught me it is to always be kind, and courteous to others. There is a lot I hope to accomplish in my life but I remind myself to not bite off more than I can chew. I will take one day at a time and continue to work hard.
