Hello,
My name is Ethan Moore. I am a 17 year old soon to be senior at United Christian Academy in Rancho Cucamonga, California. One of my current goals in life is to get a solid college education while also having the honor to play college baseball. Personally, academics are the most important aspect to my future of becoming a Federal Agent and servant to my country. Throughout my high school career I have maintained a 4.0 GPA and above. My most recent academic GPA from junior year was a 4.6 weighted GPA. I do not settle for less than the best when it comes to academics and everything I put my mind to in life. However, like everyone else, I too experience failures on a daily basis. I perservere through these failures due to my parents raising me with the mindset that when life knocks you down, you get back up and keep going! Even if you are not the best, what matters in the end is that you did your best, leaving no room for regrets. With such a foundation I plan not only to pass my college classes but to excel throughout my college career by doing my very best.
Baseball has been a passion of mine since I was six years old. In my baseball career so far, I have played for many little league teams, all star teams, travel ball teams and most currently my high school team and travel ball team, the Colton Nighthawks. I played in my first little league games at 4 1/2 years old as a catcher. I instantly fell in love with the position of catcher because of the importance and constant engagement in the game. I have been a catcher ever since and have never regretted it a day in my life. The reason I chose baseball and have loved it ever since, is because it is a game of redemption. Most of the time as a player I will fail at perfection, however, every time I catch and every time I go up to bat, it is another shot at redeeming myself.
From an early age I have been raised and regarded as a natural leader from my peers and teammates. I believe the most effective leaders are servant leaders who are willing to put everyone before themselves. Leaders are called to serve those around them, no matter how hard life gets. Leaders must be honorable, truthful, loyal and above all courageous enough to do what is right, even if it is not popular. My philosophy is based on the quote from Albert Einstein, "Only a life in service to others is worth living." It has been an absolute honor to lead such amazing people in my life whether it be in school, sports or mission trips to other countries. I look forward to continuing to be a leader on and off the field.
I owe all that I am to my God, family and friends. I am blessed to be given the life I have had, and I hope to continue to serve others in baseball, college and for the rest of my life.
I look forward to finding a college where I can continue my academic, athletic and moral pursuits of making the world around me a better place.
Thank you for your time. It has been my honor to share my brief personal statement.
Sincerely,
Ethan J Moore
