I have just completed my freshman year at Clairemont High School. As one of only two freshman selected for the varsity team, I proved myself as a reliable and versatile player and was proud to contribute to the Chieftains’ successful season finishing third in league and conference.
While I excel as a left-handed pitcher, I’m adaptable and open to new challenges. When asked to play center field, I embraced the new position and excelled; I am now in lead contention for a starting spot next year. My positive attitude, strategic pitching style and mental resilience have earned me the trust and respect of my high school coach and teammates as a closing pitcher. With hard work and diligence, I increased my pitch speed by 5 mph this past season, and am improving my mechanics working with coaching staff on my Angel’s U16 Scout Team. I am also developing my offensive skills. I read the ball well, and with dedicated practice, my bat speed and power are increasing. My coach frequently relies on me as a pinch runner. With a sub 4.0 30 yard time, I am both a quick and strategic base runner.
When I am not on the baseball field, I am improving my strength and conditioning as a dual athlete, playing varsity soccer. Outside of athletics, I play the saxophone for the school jazz band and have been playing chess since I was 6. I’m also founding a podcast, which assists fellow students with developing interpersonal and entrepreneurial skills. I am challenging myself with the most rigorous course load possible and have achieved a 3.5/4.0 GPA.
I strive to play baseball at the collegiate level, and plan to major in business. My positive attitude and eagerness to improve and succeed would make me an asset to a competitive college team.
