Christopher Wong '20 Recruiting Profile

As a four year old kid who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, my parents always took me to watch the Giants play.  I fell in love with the game at a very young age and was always ecstatic to go play ball whether it was with my friends or my family.  It was at one of the games where I told my dad sitting next to me and I said with the brightest smile on my face, “I’m gonna play here when I grow up!”  Ever since that day i’ve always had high hopes that I could play at a college level and just maybe fulfill my lifelong dream.

Throughout my childhood, my head’s either been in a book studying or out playing with my friends.  Whether it be baseball, basketball, or football. Whenever I went out to play, I have always competed to win but at the same time having fun.  All because that was my dream.

When I entered junior high I realized that I had a more intense love for the game than I thought.  It was then, I decided that I wanted to commit myself to the game. In playing baseball I pride myself on being a hard worker, a coachable player, and a great teammate. As a pitcher, I have mental toughness. I am able to stay calm, collected, and confident in tough situations. As an outfielder, I go hard for every ball and I have the ability to slow the game down for myself.  I believe I have enormous potential to get bigger, grow stronger, and throw harder throughout my high school career.

My dream is to play in college and I believe that I am a good fit for this because of my drive and determination to get better.  Everyday I’m taking swings and working out in the weightroom. Even on the field, I don’t leave the field until I am satisfied with my work.  I hope I can play this game as long as I can.
