Personal Statement
Baseball is literally in my blood. I come from three generations of MLB players and MLB scouts. Although two generations signed with major league teams right out of high school and one left college to go pro, all of them went back to obtain their college degrees. They knew that academics would make them a more well-rounded person and would provide them with more future options.
Since I have grown up with role models who have achieved what I want, I know I have what it takes to be a good candidate for a highly competitive college, both academically and athletically. My GPA, baseball experiences, and accolades prove that I am competitive both on and off the field. Regarding my character, this year I was nominated by my high school's faculty and administration for the Freshman of the Year Faculty Award, which is given to the student who is a positive force on campus and interacts strongly with both peers and faculty. I hope I can meet and talk with representatives from your school to further convince you.
