Never expect less of yourself.  Since I was a little kid, my parents always made sure my brothers and I had the highest expectations of ourselves. When things are difficult, you stick it out. When you want to give up, you just don't. There are people in the world facing these giant challenges with odds completely against them, and yet they persevere. Most of my successes I've gained through struggle, and every drop of sweat has made me stronger and more steady. There will be many challenges in my lifetime but I've got the strength to face them. That's what it's all about.
