Ronin Contreras '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ronin "Ro" Contreras class of 2024 and I am a student athlete. I play baseball (P, 1st and 3rd) and basketball as center for Tracy High School. I have been a member of the Norcal travel baseball club since I was 9 years old. When I was younger players and parents called me “Homerun Ro.”  I live on an acre property and have a batting cage in my backyard and pitching machine which I use to continually develop myself and help develop my younger brother.

My father is a Police Lieutenant and SWAT commander and my mother is a Speech Pathologist. I understand the importance of education and leadership. I work hard at being a polished player and student athlete.  I use the motto “Extreme ownership” from Jocko Willink. Whatever I am a part of, I own it, to include myself, my studies and my team. I am an aggressive yet humble baseball player. I want to be coached, receive feedback and learn everything I can from my coaches. I respect the teams I play against but look for kinks in their armor. You will get a clutch ball player who will bring a team up  by play and words when the going gets tough or the momentum turns against us. I want to win and have fun.
