Hitting from Hit...
Hitting and Field...I’ve always considered myself a team player, whether on the field or off. Active in sports and the community, I completed over 1200 volunteer hours in the past two winters alone to become one of the youngest National Ski Patrollers in the western region. To compliment that, I earned a certification in Outdoor Emergency Care. While I strive for success and am very goal oriented, my life has been riddled with obstacles. In 2006, my younger brother, Tyler, spent two years battling brain cancer. My parents had no other option than to support my brother in all ways they could as he fought for his survival. Meanwhile, I have learned to not only take on more responsibility within the family and become my brothers biggest supporter on many hard days, yet remaining focused on my own goals. Amidst it all, I am proud to have maintained a 3.4 GPA, with a significant amount of work done in hospital emergency rooms and independently. My determination to obtain the certifications and honors as well as commitment to baseball, Nordic skiing and National Ski Patrol shows my drive. My goal is to obtain a degree in fire science/management with an emphasis on nursing. I admire my firefighting dad and am intent to follow in his footsteps for my career, fighting fires and serving the community.
