February 2014Hello my name is Jonathan Ayala,
My aspiration is to become a professional baseball player. This has been my life long dream since the age of 6. If my physical ability cannot take me to the pro level, I have other goals in mind. Attending college and majoring in the medical field (RN, Paramedic, Kinesiology and/or Fireman) is a goal I will accomplish. I volunteered at Citrus Valley Hospital this past summer in the city of West Covina which has inspired me most to do so. Having a degree in any of these fields offer plenty of opportunity to pursue my life long dreams.
I feel I am a good candidate for a college team because I'm a team player, very coachable, committed and a work horse. I have been playing baseball since the age of 6 and always feel that there is more to learn about the game. I am excited about this upcoming season as I am beginning my fourth year on varsity at South Hills.
This past summer of 2013 in the Arizona J O's my travel team, Placentia Mustangs went undefeated in the 17U division (http://usab17ublog.mlblogs.com), here you can view the 17U West Division Champs - Placentia Mustangs. Also, this past October my travel team which has switched names to the So Cal Renegades were in the Under Armor 2013 So Cal Classic where I was also a standout among many athletes: #20 Ayala, Jonathan -3B/2B | 6-0/180 | R/R | 2014 | South Hills HS | Baldwin Park, CA and direct to contact, showed ability to accelerate the barrel through the hitting zone, allowing him to drive the ball to the biggest part of the ballpark. Capable defensive infielder at 3B and 2B. Article written by Justin Roswell Senior Director Team One Baseball. I have been with my travel team since the age of 13, coached by Wes Etheridge & Dan DelaSota. I am humbled and honored to be a part of such an elite group and I feel I can contribute to a team and be all I can be.
My parents have instilled a good work ethic in myself and my two younger brothers. My dad has always said, "there is always somebody out there working harder than you," knowing that drives me to test myself on a daily basis on and off the field to give a hundred percent no matter the odds. Coming from humble beginnings I know I will succeed not only on the field but in the classroom as well. For me, college and playing ball walk hand in hand.
Thank you, Jonathan Ayala
