I started playing baseball when I was five and have played on my community park team. my middle school team, various travel teams and the varsity team of my high school since freshman year. I am very passionate about and committed to the sport. I have learned a great deal from baseball, both on and off the field. I've learned to be accountable, a good leader, a great teammate, a motivator and the value of hard work and perseverance. I have earned many individual awards and honors during my time playing, but I'm most proud when my team wins a game or tournament because we each gave the game everything we had.
I played the position of catcher for the past 11 years and recently started relief pitching after my travel coach put me in a game and I pitched in the 85-88 mph range. I am now working on developing my pitching skills. As a catcher, I work well with my coaches, teammates and umpires. My coaches have told me that I am a good leader and skilled at getting the best out of pitchers and motivating them if they get discouraged during a game.
I am an honors student taking AP classes with a current GPA of 4.1/4.0. I put as much effort into academics as baseball. I will continue working hard and challenging myself to achieve my goal of playing baseball in college.
