Jose Gil '23 Recruiting Profile

As a kid, I remember watching major league games on the TV and telling my mom that I would be there one day. The promise I made to my mom is waiting to be accomplished. I was raised in southern Mexico, where baseball isn't strong, but I still found a way to love the game. My parents used to take me to Astros games many years ago and that's when my love started. Thankfully, I found out about IMG Academy which I am currently attending. As a senior in IMG and currently in my third year, I get plenty of help from all of the coaches to be the best version of myself.

Leadership runs in me, as I like to guide and help people in whatever way I can. Giving younger guys some advice and being pretty vocal in games are things that make me stand out other than my baseball skills.  I'm always ready for a challenge, whether it's in school, baseball, or life as a whole. Ready for anything that comes my way. 

I'm thankful to God for everything that has been given to me so far. Every opportunity, every piece of advice, thankful for my health, my family, and having the ability to play my sport.
