Julius Luchs '19 Recruiting Profile

Currently a catcher on the Florida Institute of Technology roster. I maintain a tremendous passion for the game of baseball!  I have watched or played the game since I was four years old.   I've learned the importance of fundamentals, hard work, and respect for the game.  I continue to practice endless hours, wanting to become a student of the game. I have a strong work ethic, and I'm a "coachable" athlete!  I'm a tireless worker, dedicated to improving my skills.  I am a strong defensive catcher, possessing excellent receiving and blocking skills.  Furthermore, being a reliable and responsible teammate is a priority.  Besides my love for the game, being part of the "team" has always been a fun experience.  Sharing the clubhouse, meals, learning experiences, and forming friendships are important.  A six-year varsity letterman, I attended a Jr/Sr. High School, where I had been on the varsity roster since 7th grade.  Catching pens and varsity game experience has improved my physical and communication skills.  Was an IB student in High school, maintaining a 3.6 GPA and graduating Magna Cum Laude. It is necessary to balance both academics and athletics.
