Being one of five children and having an older brother taught me at an early age to be very competitive. I have a natural desire to be the best and to succeed beyond anyone else. This trait is exemplified by the fact that I came into high school as a freshmen with a brand new coach that previously coached at Tennessee Tech and I earned the starting short stop position. I won, not only because of my talent, but because I worked the hardest out of any player on the team. During conditioning and training I pushed myself to be first in every sprint, run farther and harder than any player on the team, continually taking reps at my position while others worked on BP and other team members "shagged balls". I take every opportunity available to me to get better and be the best. I started the season out batting in the 6 hole and quickly rose to lead off batter. The above information just describes this year. I have been doing this since I began playing travel ball as an eight year old on a 10 year old team. I have to work harder than anyone on by team because I know there are plenty of kids, that I do not know and cannot see, doing the same thing as myself and those are the ones I am in constant competition with.
I take my academic life very seriously. I diligently do all work assigned to me and work hard at keeping my grades up. I do not procrastinate. When assignments are due I take what free time I have and complete them as quickly as possible. I am a very quiet reserved student who does not look for trouble. I am in school for a reason and my goals are set. I look to graduate with the highest GPA as possible and be the best baseball player I can in order to get a scholarship to a D1 school.
