Personal Statement

 I am ready to see and drive the ball, to have quality at bats, good games, proper thinking, to be quick, flexible, physically and mentally strong, I am ready to be the best.

Through my confidence I postulate that always will bat for extraordinary average and power!  My fielding, speed and arm will be exceptional!    I am determined to continue to work hard.

I will be passionate and enjoy the game of baseball! When I train I smile. When I play in a game I smile . When I get out I smile . When I am at my best, I will enjoy the game even more.

I have pride in what I do.

I have the ability and willingness to act courageous in the face of uncertainty, fear, pain, danger, or intimidation. When tough situations arise, I am ready to confront them.

I always will have respect for myself, respect for the game and the profession of baseball. I always will respect my coaches, the umpires, the rules and the players from both sides. I always will be kind to others.

Since a very young age I’ve been playing to make smile my God. My bat, glove, hat and cleats have engraved Isaiah 40:31.

  • David Vazquez is a 2017 SS/OF/RHP with a 6-1 171 lb. frame from Hialeah, FL who attends Westland Hialeah HS. Has a large frame, athletic build, room to fill to already strong body. Posted a 6.97 sixty yard dash. From the infield, fields the ball out front with quick transfers into throws. Gets on top of throws with good carry and arm strength up to 88 MPH. From the outfield, works through the ball nicely with clean transfers. Has plus arm strength up to 92 MPH that were online with tremendous carry. At the plate, right-handed hitter that has good leverage in his swing and stays loose throughout. Ball would come hard off the barrel loudly. Tons of raw bat speed, chance to be an impact player at the next level. Lots of tools that project highly. Named to 2016 Sunshine East Top Prospect List.

  • David Vazquez is a 2017 SS/RHP/OF with a 6-1 177 lb. frame from Hialeah, FL who attends Westland Hialeah HS. Strong athletic build with room for more strength, projects well physically. Right handed hitter, good load and shift into contact, loose and fluid swing with good extension and some lift out front, makes hard line drive contact and can drive the gaps, nice hitting tools to develop. 7.06 runner, plays both the infield and outfield equally well, has a loose arm with a quick release and good arm strength at both positions, footwork is solid as well, shows his athleticism. Also pitched, big rocker step and high leg lift delivery, fast and easy arm action, delivery is smooth and repeatable. Fastball topped out at 86 mph from a 3/4's arm slot, has good life in the zone and gets on hitters quickly. Soft curveball is thrown for strikes and has some depth to it, can use better arm speed on the pitch. Just a solid all around athlete with tools and some skills, can play all around the field. Good student.

  • David Vazquez is a 2017 SS/ with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Hialeah, FL who attends Westland Hialeah Senior. Long, lean frame with athletic, slender build, plenty of room to fill out, add strength. Good defensive actions in the infield, moves pretty well and shows range to both sides, especially to his left. Fields out in front, soft hands, has easy, loose arm-action with developing arm strength. Right handed hitter, wide base with hands tight to body from high set. Medium leg lift trigger, extended hand load, long path to ball, gets barrel through zone and shows ability to get extended. Can dip and work under ball at times, lifts at contact, shows impressive carry for player of his size. Projects well, should continue to improve with added strength. Outstanding student. Named to Showcase Top Prospect Team.

Showed bat speed at the plate, along with the ability to work the barrel through the zone a long time.
