My name is Nick McNeil out of Jacksonville Fl and I turned 17 on June 24, 2011. I am a true two way player; a hitter that can pitch and a pitcher that can hit. My mound composure is one of my best qualities. I will earn a FMA Bright Future Scholarship in Florida this year. It is my dream to play college baseball and compete at the highest level. Each of my coaches over the last 9 yrs, have said that I am highly coachable and that they appreciate my willingness to learn. In order to improve myself and help my team win, I must have an open mind to being coached up on my game and skills.
Competition only makes me better. I do not like loosing but accept loss and move on. Having a tough mental attitude especially on the mound, is one of my best qualities. I stand 6 feet tall, weigh175 pounds and I am growing. My 60 time was clocked at 6.8 seconds. I throw right, bat left with power, can hit to all fields, bunt well & have the ability to play every position. Some of my accomplishments are:
Coach I can offer your team a good example with my behavior. I am respectful, keep a positive attitude and I am not a "me" monster. I will 'out work' most teammates, keep trying to improve myself and those around me as well. I love pitching against the best hitters and am glad to take on that challenge. My composure on the mound is fantastic. If I get rocked or have errors behind me, you will not see it in my face or behavior. I just get back up and attack the next hitter.
In the off season I continue to work with my coach/trainer on all parts of the game. Currently my pitching coach holds work outs on long throws with weighted balls, bull pens, flat grounds, cardio and band exercises. Baseball requires consistent hard work year round.
My preference is a college or university that will offer me a superior education and has a solid baseball program. My plans are to major in Business & Finance, Entrepreneurship or Vet Science. I will work hard for you, make an impact, ask questions to learn how to be a better player and I will compete to win. In return I ask your coaches to help me rise to my fullest potential as an athlete, a team player, a student and as a person.
