Personal Statement
My name is William O. Garcia (graduation year 2020) and I'm the lead catcher and captain of my baseball team. I've discovered my passion for baseball very early on and have played with more than a dozen teams in South Florida and participated in tournaments from New York to Boca Raton since I was 5 years old. I made the high school varsity team since the 9th grade in John A. Ferguson High School, where I played through my junior year until I moved to Southwest Miami Senior High for my senior year. I love baseball and dedicate almost all my free time to becoming a better player and athlete. I am not afraid to take risks and have learned to trust my instincts in making choices when unexpected circumstances arise. Whatever I do, I do with conviction.
I have learned a lot from being a baseball player, including the importance of teamwork and leadership, and am always looking to support my team in any way I can. I am typically the first person on the field and the last person to leave. I hope that I can put my training and all the skills I've gained to use in college baseball as well.
