Nick Matthews '16 Recruiting Profile

Coach, 

    My name is Nick Matthews. I am a freshman in college looking to transfer and start my college baseball career! I received offers throughout my senior year but could not take them due to family-related issues. Since then, my parents and I have talked about it and have agreed that I should pursue a college career once again. In high school, I was recruited as a catcher, and that is also the main footage in my skills video. I turned down scholarships for catching for long-term reasons, and that is for my knees. I also have skills footage at SS, but I would like to play second due to having a good baseball IQ, quick feet, good reads, and fast hands. Also, I have always been a hitter for average, so I won't be the guy to come up and hit clutch bombs! But, I'll be the guy on base for THAT guy.  After my first year in college, I finished with a 3.7-grade point average, so there will be no academic issues from me. I want to play for a coach that wants to win. Plain and simple! I want to win, develop as an athlete, and earn a quality education.
