Personal Statement
I have wanted to play baseball from the time I knew what it was. I am part of a loving family that has always told me that with hard work, I could accomplish anything.
I am part of a youth group that has always been important to me. I believe that I lead others by example and I want to make that example very positive. Up until high school, I didn't have to work very hard to excel in academics or in baseball. I felt like I could coast into high school and continue to excel. Unfortunately, that was not the case. As a freshman, when most of my team mates were getting pulled up to varsity, I did not. I could have gotten upset and quit or I could work hard to show that I was ready. I spent the last year working on my pitching on and off the field. I became a leader on the JV team to younger players.
I am also involved in a Steel Drum band. We compete all over the state and we played at the Liberty Bowl last year.
I am interested in pursuing an engineering degree. I would love to go to a university for that degree and play baseball while there.
