Lucas Perez '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Lucas Perez. I have been playing baseball for as long as I can remember, and have come to deeply love this game. It has given and taught me so much, and I can think of no better way to spend these next years than contributing to my team by doing what I love, all the while gaining a quality education.

I am blessed to be a strong student, thriving in a competitive college prep school. I relish the chance not only to be prepared for college baseball, but also for the classroom. For this reason, I have challenged myself by taking all AP and honors courses. 

Something that stands out about me as a player is my constant-hustle mindset. As the saying goes, baseball is a game of failure. But it also is a game of perfectionism. And I know that if I can do the little things more perfectly than the opposition, I can capitalize on their mistakes. This mindset has made me an avid base-stealer, honed the strategic aspect of my game, and has made me a heads-up player.
