My name is Carter Sampson and I am a 2024 second baseman, RHP, and corner outfielder. My ultimate goal is to play baseball at the collegiate level, and continue to perfect my skills as a player. Academics are extremely important to me. I have kept an above 4.0 gpa in my high school career, and it currently sits at a 4.46. I see every day as an opportunity to better myself and the environment around me. I work hard to improve my hitting, fielding, throwing and pitching daily while also work going hard in the weight room to stay in shape physically. I am extremely dedicated and I aspire to continue to play baseball at a higher level. I try to be a leader among my teammates. Communication is key to the success of a team, especially as a middle infielder. My goal is to make myself and my teammates the best players they can be and help them succeed in their baseball journies. I have sat behind seniors for two years on my high school’s varsity team, but this was a great opportunity to learn and slowly gain experience. I am a full time starter this season and plan to give it my all. My main position is second base, but I also play corner outfield and come in to pitch when needed. Pitching used to be my main position before a fractured hand sidelined me for 4 months my sophomore year. My velocity and control are now back to a normal pace so I have been seeing innings in club ball in preparation for this high school season. I enjoy all of these positions because they each give me an opportunity to use a unique area of my skill set.
