Joseph Dawson '24 Recruiting Profile

I am interested in playing at the DI/DII level.  I want to be an integral part of the team as soon as I step on campus.  As a middle infielder, I perform well at reading hops of ground balls.  My great footwork contributes to getting into a good position to relay throws from the outfield.  I am a dual threat at the plate, being able to bunt for a base hit as well as work gap to gap.  One of my strengths is being able to use my calm demeanor to help teammates settle down after a tough inning. Another strength that is on the more physical side is my explosiveness. I gained my explosiveness through my 3 years of playing basketball, which began in 6th grade.  My skills at point guard and as Defensive Player of the Year (7th grade) have assisted with my lateral movement.  Having a good balance between baseball, academics (GPA = 4.23) and extracurricular activities makes me an ideal prospect.
