02/10/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Douglasville (Atlanta), GA Corey continues to shine on the diamond. At SS, he shows smooth clean actions. He displays proper footwork in creating proper angles in attacking and playing through balls with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. On the bump, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his loose, quick arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball showed range of 77-78 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch arm side run. Off speed stuff show potential as being quality pitches. Control is well above average as he locates to both sides of the plate. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, presenting hands as he makes the plays. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 74-79 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to develop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.16. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active and he displays proper footwork as he plays through balls with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Throws are accurate with zip (88 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are strong and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 71-74 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break and shows potential as being a quality pitch. He shows a feel for his changeup as he maintains arm speed but will benefit by building more movement on pitch. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Corey has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.
