Everett Lau hi...

September 2015I am a freshman at the College of San Mateo. My goal is to continue playing the game of baseball at the highest level and strive to succeed in academics to the best of my ability. In college, I plan to major in pre-law or pre-med. When I was young, my parents and advisors stressed the fact that focusing on school will open different opportunities in both academic and baseball in the future.
Baseball has been my only competitive sport since I was 4 years old. Over the years being involved with the game I have been fortunate to have been coached and mentored by great coaches and players respectively that has allowed me to become a better baseball player. My will to learn and my coachable attitude have allowed me to polish my game. I believe that my baseball IQ has grown extremely as I have gotten older. My dedication to baseball has led me to several opportunities this summer. I received an invitation to Area Code tryout from the Cincinnati Reds and spent six weeks in Seattle training with Enfuego Baseball. My humility on and off the baseball field has kept me coachable throughout my baseball career.
My primary position is a third baseman although I have experience with middle infield and outfield. I consider myself both a contact hitter and a power hitter. I have good arm strength and running speed.
After I have completed my academic studies, I would like to give back to my parents and to the baseball community that has supported me. I would like to mentor young players and guide them to be the best student athlete they can be. I have been assisting my high school conducting baseball clinics for youth players. Playing baseball is my passion and a privilege. No matter which profession I choose, my goal is to help others and become the most successful person I can be. Playing professional baseball would be a blessing.
