Baseball is more than just a game, and it helps to prepare all those who play it, for life. It teaches you that things won't always go your way, even more so, how to handle adversity and respond to it. Those who succeed in Baseball do better in life. Those who succeed are the team leaders and make everyone around them better.
For college coaches looking for that kind of guy, that guy who they trust to make the big play, or come up clutch at the plate. To pick up his teammates, make the guys around him better. To be a leader for everyone on the team, I'm that guy. I'm accountable, dependable, and coachable. I look to make the weakness' in my game, strengths. I'm a fierce competitor, and use my failures as fuel and motivation.
When I play, I pride myself on leaving everything out on the field every pitch, every, inning, every game. At practice, I am there to absorb as much information and knowledge about the game that I can, regardless of the position I am playing. That deepens my sense and feel for the game and also helps me to become more of a leader on the field, and if I make a mistake or one of my teammates does, I learn from it, then put it past me and look for the next play.
I hope to learn from every coach I play with, and become the best athlete and team leader I can be.
