Hudson John '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Hudson John, and I am a Senior at Highland High School in Pocatello, Idaho. I am a two sport athlete, playing both baseball and football. I am the starting Varsity First Baseman and Designated Hitter. This last 2023 Season I was named the All Conference 5A First Team Designated Hitter. I most recently completed my 2nd season playing for the Post 4 American Legion Single A Razorbacks. I finished the Summer Season hitting .428 with an on base percentage of .481, with 54 hits including 2 HRs and 46 RBIs. 

As a kid from a small town in Idaho, I am not being heavily recruited, despite my stats and athletic 225 lbs. and overall athleticism, a fact that I carry as a badge of honor. In addition to being athletic, I am also a dedicated student, and carry a heavy Honors Academic Schedule with a 3.4 cumulative grade point average. My brain power translates well to the baseball field. This last season my high school baseball team achieved the All State Academic Champion Award. 

I stay busy being a two sport athlete and continue to play football for my high school as the starting Middle Linebacker where we proudly compete in the State Tournament every year. I am equally proud of both abilities. I am well pleased with our current baseball program and the leadership role I have on the team. I look forward to much hard work in this upcoming Senior Year of High School, and building on my successes. I am an avid weight trainer, working with the Idaho State High School Association Strength Coach of the Year, Cade Ackley with whom I train and will be working to get bigger, faster and stronger. I plan to attend as many camps as possible when opportunity arises. I feel strongly I'd be a great addition to your program and I look forward to my continued growth beyond high school.
