I have been a High Honor Roll Student all 3 years at Cary Grove High School (2014), with a current 4.26/4.0 GPA, ACT 26, member of the National Honor Society (NHS) and National Society of High School Scholars.
I am a lefty hitter with good power and control, hitting to all fields. I am a smart, hard-throwing right handed pitcher, throwing 2 different fastballs, curve ball, changeup and slider for strikes anywhere in the count. I am a strong first and third baseman as well throwing strong and accurately across the diamond with an excellent glove. I was selected to represent Cary Grove High School at the Northwest Suburban Baseball Tournament (NWSBT) where I pitched two hitless innings, striking out 3. From there I was selected to represent Team Illinois (Grey--Paul Belo) at the Midwest Classic Baseball Tournament (MWCBT) where I pitched 4 hitless innings striking out 8. In the Fall, 2012, I was named to the Perfect Game Kernals All-Tournament Team, Cedar Rapids, IA. During the summer of 2013, I helped lead my 17U Pro Player Consultants Elite academy team to a 1st place Championship in Rock Valley, and a strong 3rd place finish at Notre Dame. My 2013 summer varsity season stats: .529 BA, .600 OBP, .765 SLG%.
My top fastball speed of 87 was verified during the summer season at a game while playing for the Schaumburg Seminoles at Standard Bank park, home of the Windy City Thunderbolts. I was clocked by the automatic park radar gun and can be verified by my coach, Russ Gangler , who can be reached at 847/337-6493. On September 21, 2012, I attended the Perfect Game Kernals Showcase in Cedar Rapids. I was named to the all Tournament Team for pitching which I believed to be an excellent accomplishment especially since I was off-season and was giving my arm a break after an extensive summer season. I was clocked at 82 mph at that time. On November 24-25, I attended and was verified at the DeMarini Top 96 showcase. I was evaluated by Payton Bieker, Purdue, who provided excellent comments regarding my hitting, fielding and pitching. My fastball was clocked at 85 mph.
Attending a college that values high academics as well as sports is a high priority for me. I am open to most division levels and I am willing to work hard to make an immediate impact and to achieve team goals as well as my personal academic and athletic goals. I would like to major in either engineering with science or mathematics as a minor. My goal in high school, travel ball and college is to play with the highest competition level and to make a positive impact on the team.
Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement.
