Ever since I saw my older brother play baseball when I was 3, I wanted to be on the diamond. I couldn't wait until I was finally able to play in my first game. Ever since then, baseball has always been one of the biggest parts of my life.
I believe one of the main things that sets me apart is my dedicated work ethic: always putting in the extra rep, the extra mile, the extra time. When some of my teammates play video games on the weekend, I am on the mound, putting in reps. When others hit McDonald's after practice, I come home and get in a lifting session.
Another thing that sets me apart from other recruits is my ability to perform even when put in a tough situation. Throughout my years playing as a pitcher, my coaches have put me into game-deciding situations and I have almost always been able to deliver. As a batter, I've been able to turn things around when there are already two outs.
Like many other high-schoolers my age, I'm not sure yet what I want to study in college. My favorite subject has always been math, and science has always been a close second. For a long time I thought I might go into aerospace engineering, and recently I've also been interested in anesthesiology.
One thing I know for sure is that I want to keep playing baseball at a collegiate level, and definitely as long as possible.
