Tim Mitchell '19 Recruiting Profile

As an athlete I want to play baseball professionally.  As a student I want to get my teaching degree and teach high school English.  And in the label student athlete, the student comes first for a reason.  We are always students, learning from others and our own actions every day.  As the academic student I understand the work in the classroom comes before the work on the field.  Time management is essential to ensuring I get plenty of study time and sleep, the right nutrition, the number of swings in the cage, and of course down time too.  Being an honor roll student, club baseball player, and high school baseball and basketball player I feel I manage my time well.  In the classroom I am often asked to assist the teacher with the lesson.  I am able to provide to my peers a perspective that they can relate to.  On the field I enjoy sharing the skills I have learned through my one-on-one training and seeing the positive results in others.  If I don't make it to the majors I will definitely continue my relationship with baseball through coaching .  I work hard for myself and for others and enjoy the benefits of it.
