2017 Highlights

Personal Statement

I am a dedicated & focused athlete, in relentless pursuit of being the best ball player on the diamond. I train 5-6 days a week in the offseason, building core strength, speed, and quickness, and continually working to hone my catching & hitting skills.

Perhaps more importantly, I am a focused student currently holding a 3.694 (weighted)/3.366 (unweighted), receiving the athletic scholar award, and most recently making the Grant HS Honor Roll (3.75+).

I have the compassion & character to care for others as much as I do my sport, and teammates. I am a true leader; a leader my coaches, and my team can count on. I enjoy helping to develop those that will follow me, almost as much as I do working on my own goals. There is no goal I cannot accomplish, no barrier to success I can't break through!

2019 High School Fall Baseball League - 2019 (Chicago Nationals)
2019 Sidewinders Select (17U)
We won 2 Championships, one in Beloit WI, and the other in Rockford IL. I led the team in RBI's, Doubles, Line Drive % (.314), and BA/RISP (.406). I finished tied for the lead in hits (28), second in average (.350).
2018 Northern Knights (16U)
I was the starting catcher and #3 hitter, leading the team in hitting. My season was cut 3 tournaments short by a rolled ankle, rounding 2nd base.
2017 Northern Knights (15U)
Jesse was the starting catcher and the team's leading hitter, batting #3 with an average North of .400 (no gamechanger stats kept). The Northern Knights went 5-0 to win the Carthage College - College Exposure Invitational, with Jesse leading the way at the plate (11/15 in the tournament, batting .733/.866 OBP, with 3 doubles and 5 RBI), and from behind it, throwing out 5 runners between the Semi-Final & Championship Game.
2016 Lake County Sidewinders (McHenry County Baseball League (A))
13U. Jesse started the season as the number one starter in the pitching rotation, finishing 2nd/3rd. He was the starting 3rd baseman, and also played catcher against teams that like to run, and when a wall behind the plate was needed during tournaments. Also backed up short stop on occasion. He led the team in RBIs until the final game of the season, finishing 2nd. Was also 2nd in doubles on the team. Jesse batted 3rd most of the year, occasionally batting clean-up.
2015 Antioch Sequoits 12U (MSBL B)
This team won the division handily with a 17-2 record, and played for the MSBL Championship (out of 24 teams), finishing 2nd overall with a loss to Arlington Heights. Jesse was the #1 Pitcher in the rotation, used heavily, he pitched approximately 75 innings. Though the team did not keep stats electronically, he maintained a low ERA , and also had an exceptional strikeout % that year. He batted between 3-5 spot all year, avg approximately .400. Besides leading our pitching rotation, he was the starting 3rd baseman, and the go to back-up catcher when mistake free ball behind the plate was needed in tournaments.
2014 Top Tier Navy (11U) (MSBL A)
This was Jesse's first full-time travel team, having played with the Grant Jr Bulldog All Star travel team the year before. He came in as a middle infielder and starting pitcher, but had to prove himself on this well established team with several 2nd/3rd year players. He quickly proved himself on the hot corner, taking the starting role at 3rd from a 3rd year player, and he also earned his stripes on the mound, going from little use to 5th man in the rotation. He batted 5-6 in the order.

2014 Disney New Years Baseball Classic (Selected as 12U National GameDay USA All Star)

Jesse represented GameDay USA as an All Star in the 2014 Disney New Years Baseball Classic, helping lead his team to a 3rd place finish, with a victory over Canada in the finals. In that highly competitive tournament, he batted .636 with an OBP of .714. He was 7/11 with 2 walks, and HBP. Jesse was the first run scored in 3 of our 6 games, scoring 4 runs and 3 RBI's. He was 3/3 in the final with several key defensive plays at 3rd.
