- 2023 Highlights #3
Personal Statement
My name is Noah Tomaras, I am a class of 2024 catcher. As long as I can remember, baseball has been a big part of my life. From watching my older brother play, going to MLB Spring Training games and having my own career. My love and devotion to the game has brought my teams championships, heartbreak and closeness with teammates making them feel like family. I have always been a team leader, team captain of my high school underclassmen team and captain of the JV basketball team. My coaches have awarded me three times with the ‘Coaches Award’ as a team player in middle school and high school. I was also the only sophomore to make our very competitive high school varsity team. We won our conference, regionals and sectional this year. I attribute that to hard work and dedication both on the field and in the classroom, achieving high honors every semester, maintaining a weighted 4.3/4.0 GPA, including completing several honors and college-credit courses, which got me recognized as an Academic All-Conference this year.
One of my goals is to play for an excellent college baseball program that also offers great academic opportunities so I can reach my potential on and off the field. I am always one of the first to practice and one of the last to leave (my ‘first to show, last to go’ motto), working on my skills and helping my teammates work on theirs. In addition to my baseball skills and solid personal character, I feel my attention to details, a focus on the intangibles of the game and a strong mental mindset would make me a great addition to any roster. I would bring this drive and contagious attitude with me every day.
I have been a multi-sport athlete my entire life and worked equally hard on my academics. I am a team first player who can focus on many things at once, giving me the training and knowledge to make split-second decisions to help the team and the mental toughness to remain calm and composed in competition. I want to apply everything I have learned, continue to grow and develop and make an impact on a program while I attend and even after I am gone.
