Recruitment VideoMy names Matt and my goal is to play college baseball. When I was little I hated baseball because I couldn't hit the ball. My dad believed in me that I was better than what I was accomplishing on the baseball field from little league to 9u baseball. He got me a hitting coach who coached his cousins son who played college baseball. My dad went to get advice from my cousin who pitched for Quincy university. They all told me to put in the time and work on the little things and the big things will come. I worked at my hitting every week so I could train my muscles to the right mechanics to improve my swing. Once that was done I was hitting the ball, seeing the ball come to vision, and taking the ball where it needed to go. I finally started believing in my self and I started loving the game of baseball. My dad loved me playing the game and I wanted to take his hard earned money that he spent on me and put a smile on his face when he sat in the stands. My dad has been my aspiration with only missing two games in my baseball life. I'm a good teammate, I'm dedicated, and I simply love the sport and that why I am a good fit for any college baseball team. I have had downs in my baseball career especially at the beginning of high school. I pushed through my freshman year with elbow pain playing and not playing and in the fall, I found out I was going to need elbow surgery to have my growth plate repaired. I worked as hard as I could to get back to playing sports. I missed my sophomore year of baseball, eager to play but the coach didn't want me to take a chance on coming back to early. I worked to play travel ball in the summer and had a strong year. My academics have come a long way. I have 3.3 gpa which I have to work for because school doesn't come easy for me. I believe I am a great kid with great work ethic and potential.
