Henry Sipchen '20 Recruiting Profile

         When I was in third grade, I wrote my first real book report on Derek Jeter’s autobiography. He was my role model because he wrote about setting high goals and working diligently to achieve them. Today, nine years later, Derek and I have each moved into our next life stages. I’m no longer a little kid, and he’s retired from the game, but Derek Jeter remains someone I look up to when I set my own goals high. I strive to play baseball at the highest level possible, while gaining the most from my education. I work at least twice as hard as anyone I know to make sure I achieve those goals. In high school, I have balanced being a two sport athlete (baseball and golf), a high honor roll student, and an active member of my school’s clubs. As I have done in high school, I will work with continued dedication in college to contribute to my team and school community. Whether working out, developing mechanics, helping others, or furthering my education, I promise you and myself that I will always go the extra mile.
