Brian Mullen '09 Recruiting Profile

Ever since I was little all I wanted to do was play baseball. My name is Brian Mullen and I will graduate in June, 2009 from Walther Lutheran High School, Melrose Park, IL. I am a hard worker and a quick learner. In high school, I am maintaining a 3.5 GPA and got a 29 on the ACT. During the 2007 season, my Sophomore year, I was brought up on Varsity for the second half of the season and through our run to 3rd Place in the Class A IHSA state tournament. This year I was the starting catcher and while catching almost all of the innings in 38 games, I threw out 46% of runners. I was also a key contributer to the offense and batted .400 with a .548 on base percentage. During the summer I continued my strong hitting and defense while playing for a nationally competitive travel team. The thing I look forward to most in college is to be around people that love baseball as much as I do. I want to study Business or more specifically Entrepreneurship because some day I plan on opening my own business. I am also interested in Political Science but what I look for most in a college is that I will fit in and be able to get playing time. One thing I am very proud of is the amount of work I've done to achieve my goals. When my career is done I will be able to say that I did everything I could have to become the best Baseball player and the best person that I could be.
