Hi, my name is Jacob Overbeck, a 6'1" 178lb Senior. This past spring, I finished my third season playing on the Varsity baseball team. I was a starting pitcher and showcased my versatility by playing multiple infield and outfield positions on the days that I was not on the mound. I was a unanimous selection to the Northern IL Big 12 East 1st team. I also earned Morris Herald-News 1st team and also Joliet Herald-News Special Mention honors. On the mound, I finished with a 5-4 record to go along with a 3.20 ERA. I finished with 57 strikeouts on the season and was called upon to pitch against many of our prominent opponents. At the plate, I finished the year with the second highest average, .329, batting primarily from the 2 hole. This next season, I look forward to taking the next step in leading our Varsity team and pitching staff. I am currently playing in my 10th travel ball season, this year with the 17u Naperville Renegades. My primary positions are RHP and SS. I have been a 3 sport athlete in high school. This fall, I will be a starting wide receiver and strong safety on our Varsity football team which finished as a state runner-up last season. This coming winter, I will be leading our team as a captain and starting at a guard/forward position on the Varsity basketball team. Throughout my baseball career, I have become very versatile in playing all infield and outfield positions. I have excellent leadership skills and have served as a captain on multiple teams. I am looking to earn the best collegiate education possible and compete at the highest level possible on the baseball field. I am flexible and open-minded as to what school will be the best fit for me. I will continue to work hard in the classroom and on the diamond to get ready to compete at the collegiate level.
