I'm Matthew McAleer, a 17 year old who is in the graduating class of 2020. I am actively searching for a school to play baseball at and to continue my education.
I’m not a typical teenager, and I want college coaches to know that. I stay away from off-field distractions and have dedicated myself to baseball. I have a high baseball IQ, I’m coachable, I bring great energy on the field, and I'm a great teammate. I’m a two sport varsity athlete, playing basketball in the winter and playing baseball in the spring and summer, but I train year-round to keep my strength and skills up. I am a successful starting RHP. I can throw any of my 4 pitches (2 seam fastball, circle change, curveball, and my primary off-speed knuckleball In any count.) When I'm not pitching, I play third base and SS. My coaches have also played me at 1B, 2B and outfield due to my versatility.
I am an excellent fielder due to my very quick reactions and strong, accurate throws. I hit .337 with a 1.75 ERA this past spring and was All-Area and All-Conference. This summer, my club team played in some of the toughest Midwest competition. I hit .333 with a .990 OPS. I know I can compete well at the college level. I’m confident in my current abilities and feel like I’m still growing and improving. I will be an asset on any college team in whatever role I am fill to help my team win. Academically, I take my school work very seriously and I work hard to get good grades.
