Zach Zbonski '20 Recruiting Profile

Coach,

    My name is Zach Zbonski. I just turned 17 years old and I finished my Junior year at Providence Catholic in New Lenox, IL.  I will be a 2020 graduate. I am an honors student with a 4.2 GPA and I got a 29 on my ACT. My goal is to play baseball in college while earning a degree, hopefully in either engineering, economics, or accounting.    I am I the oldest of 3 kids and we are a baseball & softball family.

I am playing travel ball with Go Pro for the summer 2019 season. I am a RHP, with experience at 3rd base and the outfield.  I am teachable and coachable, and willing to work hard to achieve my goals and the goals of the team.  I am long and lanky, just under 6'3" with a 6'4" wing span.  For my Junior High School season and for Go Pro, I am used more as a reliever. It is definately different than being a starter, but I am getting the hang of it.  My current ERA is around 4.00.  I am a pitch to contact style pitcher and my off speed pitches are good for getting batters off balance and force into ground outs.  As a sophomore I was in the starting rotation, with the second most innings pitched and the lowest ERA of 1.99, 4th highest strikeouts, and a WHIP of 1.00.
