My name is Kevin Garvey; I live in Brookfield, IL and attend Riverside-Brookfield High School. At R-B, I played on the Sophomore baseball team as a Freshman, was given playing time on the Varsity baseball team as a Sophomore, and started on the Varsity baseball team as a Junior. In 2012 our team finished with a 23-13 record and made it to the Regional Championship. I was selected to the All Conference Baseball team and received a Honorable Mention for the All-Area team. I also play football for R-B and started on the Varsity team since my Sophomore year. In 2012, I served as a team captain and was selected to the All-Conference Football team. I am 6 ft, 185 pounds, my max bench is 225lbs, and my max squat is 385lbs. I also run a 6.80 sixty yard dash. Athletics are a huge part of my life; I have been competing in sports since I was six years old. While growing up I played baseball, football, basketball, and soccer, but my main focus in high school has been on baseball and football. Being a part of all of these teams has made me into a better person because the experiences have taught me about teamwork, discipline, and leadership. What I bring to a team is a well rounded student athlete who has been recognized as a leader by my peers. I have both training and experience as a leader. On the field I do my part as a teammate by playing my hardest and helping my team through adversity. Off the field I work hard at practice and in the weight room because I know that is where teams and players improve. My goal is to play college baseball and become a teacher and coach at Riverside-Brookfield High School. The perfect college for me is a place where I can excel in the classroom and on the athletic field so that I can fulfill my dream. I am devoted to making this dream come true and I am ready to take on the challenges that come with it.
