Growing up I played soccer, basketball, and baseball. I took a special liking to the latter, and that connection has led me to keep playing today, after starting in second grade. Baseball has grown to be a major part of my life, whether it be practicing my game or following my favorite professional team. The sport has also taught me multiple lessons that are valuable in all contexts, like being able to get up after being knocked down and that you only get out what you give. When I tried for a program which I didn’t make, it showed me that I must move on and keep giving my best effort because there is no benefit from becoming discouraged. After years of playing, I have realized that training will not make you better unless you give it everything you have. It is easy to go through the motions while not focusing on truly improving. This has allowed me to really appreciate hard work and value advancement.
I am a high school honor roll student and athlete who is determined to play baseball at the collegiate level. I always try to improve upon my grades and my athletic abilities. I believe that I bring several positive qualities to any program. I value team success, take pride in supporting teammates, and am not afraid to step up as a leader. I take my responsibilities very seriously and know what my purpose is on the field and in the classroom. I am searching for a school that will provide the best match on both the academic and athletic sides.
